Part I: Family Recollections -- A Scrapbook Prepared for Stuart & Nancy Noyes by the Long Girls!

Roger Atwater scanned the pages of a scapbook that the Long sisters from Caribou prepared for Stuart and Nancy Noyes. Jane, Stuart and Nancy's daughter, shared the images with me. The scapbook, presented in two posts provides "a slice of life" in the family of Warren Long.

The Post for Part II of this scrapbook follows this post!

The Limestone Caswell Historical Society

I met Bob and Marilyn King at the historical society on Saturday afternoon. We spent at least three hours scanning photographs taken from the walls of the museum. Our Limestone-Caswell Historical Society captures the heritage of our small town on the Canadian border. Support the Society and become a member! Your support will be greatly appreciated! For membership information, you can contact Bob and Marilyn by calling 207-325-4971.

A Visit to the Graveyard

During a recent trip to Limestone, I dropped by the cemetery to view the family graves. Behind the grave of Solomon Thompson, I found the gravestone for Robie Adams and his wife Crissie.

As I scanned across the town taking photos, I thought of the play, Our Town.
We can wonder what our ancestors would think of Limestone today.
