From Bruce Nelson's Postcard Collection -- The Arookstook County Potato Harvest -- Limestone, Caribou, Fort Fairfield, and Masardis

Sometimes in this life we receive unexpected gifts. Today as I was scanning postcards from Bruce Nelson's collection, I turned a page and came upon an early postcard photo of my grandfather, Roy Thompson and his father-in-law, Henry Long, standing in a potato field during the fall harvest.

Holly Barnes -- Limestone, Maine 1925 -- One Room School Teachers

One Room School House in Limestone, Maine -- 1925 -- Holly Barnes, Teacher

Recently, I received an e-mail from Darlene Hemmingsen, the daughter of Vernon Johndro, who offered to share photographs that had been kept by her family over the years. As time passes, Darlene plans to send more photos. Contributions such as the Johndro family photos are greatly appreciated. Every family from Limestone has its own story. Many of these stories are told through photographs.

If others would like to contribute family photos, e-mail me at lifework50@gmail.com. With each photo you send, please provide a caption!! Darlene -- Thanks again.
