Sometimes in this life we receive unexpected gifts. Today as I was scanning postcards from Bruce Nelson's collection, I turned a page and came upon an early postcard photo of my grandfather, Roy Thompson and his father-in-law, Henry Long, standing in a potato field during the fall harvest.

Recently, I received an e-mail from Darlene Hemmingsen, the daughter of Vernon Johndro, who offered to share photographs that had been kept by her family over the years.
